Special Instructions to Applicants:
Position Purpose: To participate in the epidemiologic analysis and reporting of health care data in a collaborative health services research environment. The position works with principal and junior investigators as well as biostatisticians and database administrators in the execution of assigned research projects. He/she will perform delegated responsibilities that include analytic planning and analysis related to health services research investigating the epidemiologic patterns of healthcare, particularly using extremely large claims databases.
Skills & Knowledge: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of epidemiologic concepts and methodology.

Basic programming knowledge using a high level programming language.

Ability to understand complex data structures and linkages between data sources.

Ability to solve analytic problems using self-directed problem solving methods.

High degree of attention to detail.

Ability to understand Medicare claims data including medical procedure codes, file interpretation and file formats.

Ability to independently draft and run appropriate statistical tests.

Ability to independently develop instruments and related analysis plans.

Quantitative curiosity.

Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.
