What is the Commercial or Sales Function?

It's not necessarily what you think. Most people associate sales people with being pushy and aggressive, trying to sell you something whether you want it or not. This is not the sort of sales role we are talking about. In a Key Account Management role, you will be responsible for a part of our business and work with large clients such as Tesco, Boots, Superdrug, John Lewis to build their business, and ours, by providing mutually beneficial business solutions. The role requires maturity, good relationship-building skills and a commercial mind.

Your key role and responsibilities would be:

• Negotiating with the client to build a business relationship of trust and confidence to deliverl business objectives. Tailoring and maximising new launches within accounts. Putting together rationales for new product listings, space increases and promotions.

• Key competitor analysis.

• Liaising with all areas of the business internally in order to assure the highest level of customer service. Monitoring sales and identifying new business opportunities whilst accurately forecasting promotions and launches.

You will enjoy working in L'Oréal Commercial if…

• You are results driven and enjoy a challenge. You would thrive on the challenge of managing your own business in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• You are a natural communicator who enjoys networking and negotiating, able to adapt to different personalities/circumstances. You are able to handle objections and confrontation confidently

• You are a flexible thinker who generates new ideas and business solutions

Internships are often the first step to a career with L’Oréal – many of our current managers first worked for L’Oréal as interns. Our goal is simple: to offer you valuable professional experience and help you get a better idea of who we are. It's also a great opportunity to build your work experience before you leave university - making you much a much more rounded candidate for employment in the future.

• How do internships work?

We recruit interns into the business in nearly all our functions but more predominantly in Commercial, Marketing, Logistics, Finance and PR. You can expect to make a real contribution to the day-to-day operations of your team.

How much will I be paid?

• What are the objectives of your internship?

An internship is your opportunity to understand our company culture and our way of functioning. An internship is a two-way evaluation. Not only do you get to experience us, we get to assess your long-term career potential within L’Oréal.

• How is your performance assessed?

Your objectives are clearly defined with you and your Line manager at the start of your internship. Midway through your internship you will have a review with your line manager and your HR contact to evaluate your performance and give you some formal feedback. At the end of your internship we review your progress and discuss your future within L’Oréal.

• After an internship, what’s next?
