The Associate Director, Category Management and Shopper Solutions is responsible for developing a long term category leadership strategy with Target based on guest insights and shopper solutions, cultivating strong relationships with the Target merchant and marketing teams and establishing Nestle Nutrition as a strategic vendor partner on key growth & reinvention initiatives.

Major Responsibilities:
-Lead the category management customer resources on overall alignment between Nestle and Target..
-Establish strong customer relationships with regard to aisle leadership, merchandising strategy and format evolution (Mom & Baby, P-Fresh, Pharmacy & Grocery).
-Develop research /shopper insights learning agenda that supports aisle leadership and long term growth.
-Key point of contact for shopper insights and shopper solutions
-Establish relationships with Target Marketing department and align Nestle Marketing initiatives (ie: SHSH) with Target Marketing programs/events.
-Influence/Guide Target's perspective on the importance of baby through shopper insights and consumer trends (impact to trips/conversion/transactions, loyalty).
-Serve as 'Category Expert' providing objective feedback to Target across all aspects of the store, category, marketplace, consumer and shopper.
-Lead overall category management planning (1-3 year Category Plan)
-Lead development and implementation of best practices in pricing, promotion, optimal assortment, aisle layout, product flow, adjacencies, shelf management and shopper insights to solutions.

-Responsible for alignment , integration and collaboration with CCSD relative to business, customer and portfolio development.
-Assist in teaching and imbedding category/shopper insights and best practices within the local team.
-Assist in setting the course for Total Nutrition within Target ' Infant, Healthcare, Performance.
-Engage cross functional resources to develop 'best in class' insights and solutions.

-Enhance Category Leadership role within Target through the recruitment, development and retention of high potential associates.
-Ensure that the category team can and interpret data and develop actionable solutions that deliver results.
-Drive accountability and execution across the category management team.

Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years CPG category management/shopper insights or marketing ' either internal or field based, preferably on a Category Captain/Market Leading Brand.

Training and experience in the following areas: Highly developed Presentation skills, Interpersonal Skills, Negotiation Skills, Sales skills, Time Management, Project Management

Key Competencies:
-Ability to analyze, interpret and develop recommendations from disparate data sources.
-Category Management skill set including IRI/Nielsen mastery, Spectra, Space Management expert, expert in Microsoft Office applications.
-Shopper insights skill set ' ability to link shopper insights with category insights to develop actionable shopper solutions.
-Ability to interpret research data and develop a strategic position and direction.
-Strategic thinker with the ability to articulate/present a compelling position or recommendation.
-Strong interpersonal skills ' ability to cultivate relationships.
-Strong people development skills ' coaching/teaching/training.

Travel Requirements - up to 20%
