Relocation: If necessary, relocation assistance will be provided in accordance with Nestlé's relocation policy.


To develop and optimize existing and new and improved frozen food products for Nestlé Prepared Foods Company - Denver. Work with minimal supervision to develop new retail products designed to meet the needs of consumers. To optimize product quality via improvements in ingredients, processing strategies and formulation.


1. Develop new products and line extensions to meet the sales and marketing needs.

2. Develop prototypes in the laboratory environment and scale-up products into full-scale manufacturing.

3. Improve existing products.

4. Evaluate alternate ingredient suppliers.

5. Evaluate alternate processing methodologies for improvements in products, efficiencies, yields and product quality.

6. Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality assurance in a team environment to develop and launch new and improved products.


' BS degree in Bakery Science or related field preferred, but not required.
' Position requires approximately 30% travel.


1. Minimum 1-3 years baked goods product development or related experience.
2. Previous experience in the scale-up of products from conception/laboratory into full-scale manufacturing.
3. Familiar with analytical methodology currently used in the bakery industry.
4. Food Processing Manufacturing experience is a plus but not a requirement.


1. Strong dough formulation skills and understanding of food/baked goods systems.
2. Knowledge of and ability to manipulate ingredient functionality.
3. Strong understanding of the interrelationship of processing equipment and formulation.
4. Detailed knowledge of raw materials specifications and processing including bakery flours, fats, yeast and dough conditioners.
5. Knowledge of frozen food processing and microwavable foods is a plus but not a requirement.
6. Understanding of sensory testing and statistics is a plus but not a requirement.
7. Strong creative problem solving skills.
8. Requires a high degree of integrity, maturity and honesty.
9. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments.
10. Ability to lead and motivate a project team.
11. Will possess outstanding oral and written communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of management.
12. Excellent organizational skills.
13. Highly motivated and goal oriented, ability to adapt quickly to change.
14. Must be a strong team player and possess strong interpersonal skills.
15. Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not a requirement.
