Assistant, Engineering (Maintenance Specialist)

Relocation: If necessary, relocation assistance will be provided in accordance with Nestlé's relocation policy.

The Engineering Assistant oversees daily operations of facilities, utilities, equipment, plant infrastructure, and support systems for the plant. He/ She has supervisory responsibility for contractors and 5 maintenance mechanics.

1. Act a point of contact for the maintenance of buildings and grounds. This includes repair of structural and any non-production related/facilities (ie: roof repair).
2. Oversee the efficient operation of the plant's utility systems such as boilers, ammonia systems, compressed air systems, waste water treatment, and fire / water systems.
3. Ensure HVAC systems are functional and take maintenance action as needed.
4. Work closely with outside contractors related to plant systems. This includes developing service contracts and coordinating repair.
5. Oversees plant predictive maintenance program.
6. Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in carrying out departmental objectives utilizing knowledge of company purposes, rules, regulation, procedures, and practices. Plans, conducts, arranges and supervises training of personnel. Reviews leave requests, evaluate personnel performance, and initiates disciplinary actions. May also interview job applicants.
7. Reviews department's work load, schedules, status of on-going work, projects, and available personnel for work assignment in order to plan unit activities. Also observes personnel engaged in construction, installation, and preventative and routine maintenance on machinery and systems at a pet food manufacturing facility.
8. Participates in personal training and development.
9. Maintains a clean work station, follows Good Manufacturing Practices, and works safely.
10. Supports the 'Nestle Blueprint for Success.'
11. All other activities as assigned.


BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related technical discipline.

6+ months maintenance or engineering experience.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
