The BAO Cognos Business Solution Manager (BSM) executes sales leadership and demonstrates proficiency in identifying Industry specific Cognos Performance Management solution opportunities (including BI and Financial Performance Management) that lead with Business Analytics & Optimization (BAO) offerings or solutions. Responsibilities include:

-Selling FPM & BI Solutions (GBS Services) and Cognos software
-Teaming with GBS Partners and APs to close deals
-Facilitating coordination between the GBS Sector/Industry Leaders and the software sellers to ensure additional opportunity identification (OI) by the GBS go-to-market community, thereby growing the pipeline
-Outlining the total business value of the BI and FPM solution to the client, rather than relying on standard benefits of bundled point products and services
-Using skill and experience to craft solutions beyond packaging of single products or services
-employing the consultative selling approach to C-level executives
-learning and using the various GBS toolsets and offerings (WWGPE, Risk Manager, Delegation Letters; GBS Cognos Methodologies; Cognos Accelerators and/or Blueprints; etc.) in order to properly scope "solutions"
-Using in-depth understanding of financial management and implementation approaches, including understanding typical structures of business processes and architectures used by the respective industry
-Using in-depth knowledge of the IBM FPM and BI solutions, its underlying value proposition and implementation approaches
Identifies and discusses issues with the client, and then works the IBM team to develop a proposed alternative based on the IBM FPM & BI solution and outline the implementation approach highlighting key risks and mitigation strategies

Required
High School Diploma/GED
At least 3 years experience in selling and/or delivering Cognos BI and/or Financial Performance Management solutions
At least 3 years experience in identifying, qualifying and closing business and IT solution opportunities
At least 3 years experience in financial performance management and BI Industry processes
Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
English: Fluent

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
At least 5 years experience in selling and/or delivering Cognos BI and/or Financial Performance Management solutions
At least 5 years experience in identifying, qualifying and closing business and IT solution opportunities
At least 5 years experience in financial performance management and BI Industry processes
