Duties & Responsibilities The Common Alumni Affairs and Development System (CAADS) Practice, operating within the University’s Administrative Technology Services group, collaborates with the CAADS Product team to support 900+ University-wide staff to achieve fundraising, alumni engagement and participation goals. The CAADS team supports a suite of integrated staff and alumni-focused applications and services, including the SunGard HE Advance product, a comprehensive portfolio of reports, and Business Intelligence (BI) / analytics tools.

In addition, the CAADS Practice collaborates with the AOS Product team to support the full suite of Alumni Online applications including the Harris Connect Alumni Portal (, the Alumni Clubs/Sigs portal Alumni Magnet, the Alumni Volunteer portal YardLine, the Reunion Technologies Class Reports portal, and online giving functions and their integration with the CAADS suite of systems.

The CAADS Project Manager is a key role with responsibility for planning, execution, monitoring and communication of strategic projects for the Alumni Affairs and Development staff and Harvard alumni at large. Day-to-day operational responsibilities include: meeting with customers and stakeholders to identify project goals, scope and timelines; creating and managing detailed project plans; leading teams; resolving conflicts; tracking progress; managing resource allocations; and communicating with project stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage projects from initiation to closure, taking accountability for project results

Meet with customers and stakeholders to define project scope, goals and deliverables

Develop estimates and identify resource requirements

Create detailed project plans

Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning

Manage project resource allocation and budget

Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders

Track team hours and project deliverables

Manage third-party professional services including contract terms, contractor performance, invoice review, etc.

Manage project scope through effective change management processes

Create and communicate reports on project progress, issues and solutions to sponsors

This position is privy to sensitive and confidential information.

Must be conscious of data security and risk management.

Basic Qualifications
BA/BS (preferably computer science) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

5+ years of experience successfully managing projects from initiation to closure

Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Ability to develop collaborative partnerships across the organization to achieve results

Excellent leadership, delegation, negotiation and decision making skills

Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project

Proficient in project management software.
Additional Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency managing diverse projects that involve a range of software, systems and technologies, including emerging technologies

3+ years of IT experience (software development experience highly desirable)

Project management certification

Project management experience within higher education.
