Duties & Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Web and Enterprise Applications, the developer/analyst will work in a cross-functional collaborative team leading & supporting the design, development, deployment and ongoing maintenance of a 24x7 application portfolio supporting the School’s academic and administrative computing platforms. Primary responsibilities include: Design and code enterprise-grade web solutions across a wide range of technologies,

databases and platforms; cope with projects across multiple simultaneous initiatives delivering key milestones on-time; lead Faculty/Staff stakeholders through all project phases - translating loose requirements into prototypes and/or production-quality software/Web portals; troubleshoot and support all portfolio applications across a heterogeneous environment; evangelize common Web/Software development practices & standards promoting their proactive use; perform and document regular code reviews; review IT technologies/solutions from a Web architecture perspective; troubleshoot performance and system reliability issues, and explore emerging frameworks facilitating their inclusion into development roadmaps. Other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 3+ years of hands-on Web & application software development and thorough knowledge of applications development. Must possess a strong technical background in: End-to-end software development in a distributed, multi-tier, enterprise environment; multi-layered security; Object-Oriented Design; Enterprise Java (JSP, Servlets, EJB, JMS, JDBC, JMX), Web/Application Servers (Apache HTTP, Tomcat, IIS, BEA Weblogic), PHP, Drupal, Plone, MediaWiki, SharePoint, Visual Basic, HTML, XML, CSS, scripting and Relational Databases (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres); Understanding of Java & ASP .NET Security, Cryptography, Authentication, Access Control, Secure Communications and Public Key Infrastructures; Unix/Windows/Mac OS cross-platform integration, and Subversion source control.
Additional Qualifications Demonstrable technical leadership in cross-functional teams; Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, database design and optimization; Hands-on experience with Unix/Windows/MacOS operating systems, networking and direct end-user support; Working knowledge of Identity Management Solutions, Web Services architectures and rich Internet application frameworks; Familiarity with design patterns and the ability to drive them into software development; Exposure to agile software development methodologies; Demonstrated ability to maintain documentation and code repositories; Active mentoring of developers on application-specific issues.

Excellent communication skills; Strong analytical and problem solving skills; A passion for innovation; Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities; Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high-pressure on-call environment.

Experience in a higher education environment highly desired.
