Duties & Responsibilities
The Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR) is an organization at the Harvard School of Public Health responsible for the design, monitoring and statistical analysis of clinical trials for several clinical trials networks. These include the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) group and the largest HIV-related clinical trials network in the world, the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG). Results from these trials have helped to establish the paradigm for the management of HIV disease, forming the basis of current treatment guidelines and resulting in dramatic reductions in AIDS mortality around the globe.

We are seeking a recent college graduate or novice SAS programmer to join our team of over 120 programmers, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and research staff in our cause to eliminate the morbidity associated with HIV-1 infection and its complications and co-infections.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Import text files into SAS datasets
o Create SAS formats and apply those formats to variables
o Assign variable lengths and labels
· Create, troubleshoot, and validate project-specific SAS programs
· Produce reports for QA/QC purposes
· Collaborate with team to resolve data issues

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative or scientific field, such as mathematics or computer science.
Additional Qualifications
· Programming skills in SAS or an equivalent statistical software
· Knowledge of programming concepts
· Attention to detail
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Strong deductive reasoning skills
· Experience in data cleaning
· Experience with UNIX
· Basic knowledge of statistics and/or clinical trials
