Engagement Leader (Multiple Openings)

Job Purpose:
Responsible for successful project delivery and customer realization of business benefits. Typically manages between one and three projects, including Pega, partner or client led implementations. The Engagement leader role is one of trusted advisor to the customer and actively contributes to the success of all client engagements through industry knowledge, Pegasystems product knowledge and first class leadership, and project management skills.

Key Result Areas:
Delivery Management
Delivering what has been sold, to agreed customer timescales, budget and quality metrics. Assisting customers to achieve the expected return on investment. Major responsibilities include: Direct project delivery through project progress tracking, change control, and the overall governance process. Accessing, securing and leveraging appropriate resources for successful delivery. Achieving the “as-sold” project margin through effective delivery.

Client Management
Acting as a trusted advisor to clients on all aspects of Pegasystems engagements within an account. Working to enable clients in Pegasystems skills and taking them through the journey of delivering projects in a co-production model to developing a customer Center of Excellence focused on Pegasystems products and skills. At all times, managing the customers’ expectations.

Industry Expertise
Specializing in an industry vertical or a number of verticals, understanding the customer strategy, process and vocabulary.

Implementation Expertise
Understanding how to execute within a client environment by leveraging extensive delivery experience. Being able to lead a team and actively manage a plan and the projects risks and issues.

Methodology Expertise
A comprehensive understanding of Pegasystems delivery methodology and how this can be harmonized with a client or System Integrators own methodology. Expert understanding of Agile, Waterfall and Scrum approaches to delivery. Will need to structure implementation approach for new opportunities, including definition of “Week 1”, sliver or iterative development strategy, staffing strategy (client, alliance partner and Pega participation) and quantification of business benefits (ROI).

Account Radiation and Permeation
Together with the vertical Practice Leader, contributing to the account strategy and radiating within the account to develop incremental license and professional services revenue. Activities will include solution conceptualization, implementation sizing, writing work orders and facilitating client signature process.

Time Allocation
Delivery: 80%
Business Development: 10%
Account Hygiene / Administrative Tasks: 10%

Education and Experience Requirements:
BA / BS – Technical Degree Required
MBA or equivalent Required
PMP Certification optional

Type of Experience and Minimum Number of Years:
Minimum 10 years experience in professional services project management roles.
PRPC Certification (within 6 months of joining Pega)
Methodology BB certification (within 6 months of joining Pega)

Degree of Financial Responsibility:
Work within the established financials
Travel Requirements
More than 75% travel
