We’re currently looking to recruit over 40 Operations Technicians to join our Production Operations teams in the UK. The majority of these new recruits will be offshore based in the North Sea area, with a small number allocated to one of our onshore gas plants.

As an Operations Technician, you’ll join a shift team and monitor and operate the plant assets in order to attain full plant integrity and the reliability of processed products supplies to our customers. Conversant with front-line process diagnostics in order to reduce downtime at the plant, you’ll also be required to carry out routine and first-line maintenance, preparations and re-instatements of maintenance equipment.

In detail, your responsibilities will require you to:
. Assist in the continuous safe and efficient operation of the plant and facilities so we can maintain the specified quality and quantity of product to all our customers

. Adhere to and promote safety and environmental procedures to ensure your own safety, the safety of personnel, process plant and the environment

. Respond to any emergency situation under the direction of your Supervisor and provide first-line emergency response in accordance with the emergency procedures, and to assist local emergency services under the direction of the Incident Controller

. Control all work in your area of accountability through our Permit to Work System so as to prevent any undue conflict or unsafe acts

. Report or communicate any abnormal condition or potential equipment failure that could cause unsafe operation or affect export product quality or quantity, and take effective action as directed by your Supervisor

. Ensure all equipment in your area of accountability is operated within it’s safe working envelope
. Under the direction of the your Supervisor, carry out first-line diagnostics on equipment and routine maintenance tasks of your specific disciplines

. Take responsibility for the updating and availability of relevant logs during your shift period, ensuring the maintenance of an accurate and comprehensive record of plant and equipment, and making sure any abnormal conditions can be communicated to other employees

. Participate in the Operations and Emergency support duty call-out rota when required.


We’d prefer you to have an NVQ Level 3 in Hydrocarbon Processing (or equivalent qualification) and to have significant years experience working as an Operations Technician on an offshore installation or an onshore gas plant / refinery. Having experience working as either a Control Room Operator, Technical Custodian Instruments or Responsible Person Electrical with the associated qualifications will enhance any application.

We would also like to invite applicantions from individuals with a strong Maintenance background, with an NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance or similar Trade Qualification, full City & Guilds or an ONC, with proven years experience working within your relevant Maintenance discipline. If you have previous experience in a process industry or cross-craft environment, you’ll be at an advantage but this is not essential for applications.
