SEEL is part of Shell Trading & Shipping Company Ltd (STASCo), our principal trading and shipping business. Shell Trading is made up of a network of independent companies that trade in their own right, but also leverage the opportunities open to a global organisation by sharing information, advice and best practice.

With the skill base and international scope to capitalise on trading opportunities inherent in Shell's asset and market positions around the world, our key trading and marketing operations are based in North and South America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Our commitment is to satisfy the world’s need for energy with responsible solutions. If you want to work with a group of creative, ambitious and innovative professionals then you should consider Shell. We'll provide you with the resources to put your ideas into action, worldwide opportunities, and outstanding benefits. Let’s make a real difference together.

As a Power Trader you’ll be an essential part of the North Europe Trading team. You’ll have accountability for trading profits in the Northern European Markets.

• Executing power trades within mandated authorities for Northern Europe
• Being the primary interface with customers, both internally and externally
• Sharing information/intelligence across the trading network while managing trading exposure with particular attention to detail
• Understanding and communicating risks effectively
• Analysing fundamental and technical market conditions, devising and implementing profitable trading strategies around these
• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines
• Identifying market opportunities and engaging the relevant commercial teams in developing concrete plans to pursue them
• Building effective relationships with internal stakeholders, and communicating advice succinctly to senior management

Educated to degree level, you’ll ideally also have a post-graduate qualification including a strong analytical component. You’ll be able to demonstrate your power trading experience and in-depth knowledge of the European power and gas markets. You’ll also have experience in market analysis, planning, commodity price risk management, and derivates trading /marketing including customer contact or selling “creative" pricing propositions. Ideally you’ll have previous exposure to the gas supply chain in Europe and related terms and conditions.

Confident and self-motivated, your excellent interpersonal and communication skills mean you’ll be able to liaise effectively with all levels of management and other businesses. You’ll have the ability to generate creative solutions to problems. This role is a challenging position within Shell with excellent development opportunities across the Shell group.
