RX/Photodetector Intern - 611998


This internship requires a mature and independent candidate capable of learning the necessary skills for testing and characterization of high speed photodetectors and photoreceivers. The position requires dependable data collection as well as regular presentations to the team.


The candidate must be a graduate student working on a PhD in an engineering or physics curriculum with both electrical and optical course work and lab experience.

Previous experimental experience with photo detector measurements is strongly recommended. The candidate must be proficient in testing and characterizing active optoelectronic devices. Candidates must have basic understanding of semiconductor device physics, specifically devices for photo detection. In addition, the candidate should also be comfortable with optical alignment and fiber coupling for both normal-incidence and waveguide devices. Experience with high speed (RF) characterization would also be a major plus.
