We’re currently looking for 3 Senior Electrical Engineers to join our team in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth – One Gas West.

Responsibilities:
The Senior Electrical Engineer undertakes Upstream International Europe (UIE) disciplines activities and technical support to selected assets. The incumbent is also responsible for providing technical support to small/medium size projects relating to those assets or to which he/she is additionally assigned. The candidate is accountable as Technical Authority (TA2) for all Electrical matters. The successful applicant may also be appointed accountable as Contract Holder for one or more Electrical related service & support contracts and custodian for technical standards.

The Engineering & Maintance support organization operates across Europe to deliver operational excellence in HSE, technical integrity, production and cost leadership.

This is achieved by:
. Harmonizing, optimising and standardising core operational processes
. Creating co-operation between locations and between activities across borders
. Facilitating the active allocation of resources towards high value work
. Identification and incorporation of learning's and best practices
. Senior Electrical Authority for the Electrical safety Rules for specific business units as required
· Provide technical specialist Engineering expertise & support to the project teams and to the Engineering & Maintenance Contractors (Integrated Service Contracts) in support of Plant Changes
· Provide technical and commercial advice on all aspects of conceptual and detailed design, purchase and implementation of Electrical installations, equipment and materials
· Provide technical assurance of the adequacy of designs prepared by Contractors
· Participate in technical audits and reviews (e.g. HAZOP, RCA, FMEA, VAR) and peer assists
· Promote the application of new technologies and design/implementation methodologies

Technical Authority (TA2) accountabilities include custodianship of assigned:
. Engineering and Maintenance Codes of Practice
. Engineering Design and Maintenance Standards
. Safety-critical Systems Performance Standards
. Maintenance Strategies
· Responsible for approving technical deviations of Safety Critical Performance Standards

Asset support consists of providing expert advice, as-required on all matters relating to Electrical Installation maintenance, operability and performance of all Electrical equipment, including Electrical protection systems. Accountabilities include the review of monthly key performance indicators (KPI) for each asset and attendance at monthly Asset Integrity review meetings.


Requirements:
Education:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is essential. Chartered Engineer or working towards status would be desirable.

Experience :
· Extensive experience in the petrochemical industry preferably with some off-shore experience would be an advantage
· In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering and systems integrity
· Demonstrate design experience and maintenance of Electrical installations including electrical protection systems
· Self motivated individual with flexible approach and inter-personal skills will be beneficial
· Due to the nature of work, the incumbent will be exposed to a wide range of technologies and will be expected to visit offshore locations as a part of the role
· Customer focus with commercial approach and expertise to promote business opportunities is essential

Applicants should have a detailed knowledge of Legalisation and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and other applicable industry standards and quickly be capable of finding, understanding and applying the relevant discipline standards within UIE. Knowledge of the SHELL standards and procedures would be beneficial.
