We’re currently looking for a Senior Occupational Health Nurse and Medic Co-ordinator to join our team in Aberdeen, reporting to the UK Health Manager for Shell Upstream International Europe (UIE).

In this role the the successful applicant will support UK Upstream business and will be accountable for implementing group standards for health and will work as part of an integrated health team.

Shell has been finding and producing oil and gas for over a century.

Our Upstream International business searches for and recovers oil and natural gas across the world, except the Americas. This spans from exploration activities to the commercial delivery of major upstream projects and to production. Many of these activities are carried out as joint venture partnerships, often with national oil companies. The business also liquefies gas and is active in gas to liquids technology. Today, we have interests in Upstream activities in more than 39 countries and employ around 17,000 people.

Main objectives of a successful incumbent are…

.Manage Shell Occupational Health clinical services based in Aberdeen on behalf of the UK Health Manager

.Plan, organise and deliver fitness to work and health surveillance programmes, sickness absence case management and health promotion to business units in the upstream oil and gas industry

.Ensure and assure provision of highly competent offshore medics to deliver clinical and occupational health deliverables in line with Shell standards and UK legislative requirements

Accountabilities includes but are not limited to…

.Supervision and support to the occupational health clinical services team including needs assessment, delivery of services and feedback to the business, staff and contractor recruitment, induction and ongoing coaching

.Implementation of local protocols and procedures in compliance with Shell policy and standards

.Provision of health subject matter expertise to implement and assure effective Medical Emergency Response on onshore and offshore locations including planning, resources, emergency exercises and tracking of remedial actions to close out

.Quality assurance of key occupational health deliverables of the Offshore Medics supporting Shell platforms including Clinical Supervision, Drug and Alcohol policy and Medical Emergency Response

.Pro-active contract management of contracts for medical consumables and health promotion services to the onshore and offshore business

.Plan and implement health promotion strategy for the business

.Support occupational health team to maintain an active portfolio for the Health Working Lives Award scheme

.Continuous improvement of clinical delivery and occupational health compliance for both onshore and offshore locations within Shell upstream business.

You should possess a Registered General Nurse Qualification and be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) preferably with a qualification in Occupational Health.

An ideal candidate should have significant experience preferably within Oil & Gas industry with some offshore experience would be an advantage.

In addition you should also have :

.High level of IT literacy including use of Microsoft software packages

.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

.Experience in audit would be beneficial

.Offshore capability

.Management and commercial awareness skills
