We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Release Manager with a minimum of 5 years of system Build and Release engineering experience in the mobile devices or PC environment along with 5 years of project management experience. In this role, you will collaborate directly with Software Engineering, Integration Leads, Software Release Engineers and Program Software Managers. You will take ownership in managing software packages for integration, testing and commercial releases meeting all quality criteria. The candidate is expected to manage large and complex software packages from multiple software sources including key strategic platform partner, selected chipset vendors and internal Nokia software assets.
You must excel at both working independently as well as in a group setting. Managing the intricacies of complex release timing and scheduling of software entities operating independently will be a key component to your success. You must also be an excellent communicator, as this job role will require extensive interface with not only internal organizations but also to our external strategic partners.

Core Responsibilities:
Manage and align software release schedule from all software entities including external strategic partners with the overall Product Program schedule. Defining dependencies and risks will be a big part of this responsiblity.
Responsible for software releases with internal and external software teams that will meet our customer's needs. These plans must not only be timely but must meet the highest of standards.

Drive software releases working directly with Release Engineers, Integration Leads and internal Nokia development teams to meet all program milestones.
Deliver requirements for software releasing and archiving systems, Configuration Management and Software Version Control, and software release test requirements.
Manage all impediments reported by software integration entities, internal software development teams and ODM supplier while coordinating with internal and external software entities' fault management process.

Maintain cooperative working mode by way of strong communication with Software Engineering, Release Engineers and external 3rd party software development entities.
Lead the Build and Release process to further build on quality level while improving overall software building efficiency.

Forecast release scheduling based on historical metrics.
Lead the Build and Integration team by providing project guidance, direction and mentoring.

Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
5 years experience in Software Engineering, Software Configuration and Software Version Control management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management (PMP certification preferred).
A thorough understanding and experience with software configuration management tools.
A strong interpersonal skill and versatile team playing attitude having, at the same, the ability to work independently with an open and flexible mindset.
Willingness to enjoy working as part of a multinational team, flexibility and ability to look at the big picture.

Ability to proactively collaborate and lead with external strategic partners, Software Engineering and Program Management teams.
Exposure to Agile methodologies such as SCRUM.
