Tablet SW Development Manager - 612201


As SW Development Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of a range of products on IA based tablet SOC's. You will focus on building differentiating tablet SW components above the core SoC driver stack as well as platform level driver elements and porting/optimization of critical tablet applications to NTG SoC platforms. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. In addition, you will be helping to hire and build your team and systems.
- Responsible for the overall systems development life cycle for tablet Reference OS and Products.
- Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Drive IA-based tablet experience based on NTG�s SoC roadmap and ecosystem partners to support product objectives.
- Ensuring that the key software components for the product are being delivered from common platform teams
- Working dependencies and commitments with the common platform teams, and driving technical issues to closure
- Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.
- Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.
- The key requirement for this position is established skill designing and developing complex, interactive customer experiences.

The ideal candidate would have the following traits.
- A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
- A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders


Minimum educational requirment would be a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science (MS, Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred).

Minimum qualifications:
- 8 years experience with a heavy focus on silicon/SoC based product development, ideally with some hands-on architectural or systems experience, 5 years of which must include the direct management of SW engineering teams
- 5 years experience in various SW tools, including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++) and open-source technologies (Android, Linux)
- 4 years of development experience on multiple Platforms ( Google Android, Windows Mobile,) and mobile devices (Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, etc)
