Job Description: The Cisco Advanced Services team seeks an AS Project Manager. This position has a heavy metric reporting component, managing the Delivery SLA’s, Service Request management and process engineering. In this role, you will be focusing on ensuring the success of reactive, break-fix projects, managing the planning and execution of optimization efforts, and coordinating the interaction of internal, partner and customer resources toward the completion of key services projects.

This position requires a strong knowledge of Cisco technologies and solutions, as well as an ability to effectively manage projects, timelines, budgets and resources. The ideal candidate has extensive experience dealing with large financial institutions and is comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment that is global in reach. This candidate will have extensive customer relationship management experience. Manages large/complex customer facing projects or multiple projects. Creation of a project schedule and plan with financial, resource and material requirements. Manages the project from start to completion, including the resolution of escalated project issues. Presents service business value to customers for new or existing business. Influences the customer in the assessment, planning and management of related network projects. May manage internal projects/programs within Cisco. May Program Manage ongoing optimization service to deployed customer networks. Acts as a mentor to other Project Managers. Works with the Program Management Community to further develop the PM/PGM role, processes and operations.

Typically requires BS/BA degree or equivalent plus 6+ years related experience in networking/telecommunications industry OR min 4-5 years managing LAN and/or WAN network implementation and support PLUS 4-5 years in a Clearly defined Senior Project Management role. Six Sigma Black belt and ITIL preferred.

Project/Program Management experience in the deployment of leading edge technologies in a highly complex commercial environment. Has basic knowledge of routing, routing protocols, switching, internet and general network architecture has demonstrated clear leadership skills and experience working with large project teams and strategic account teams. Has a good knowledge of the sales process including risk assessment and scoping. Has demonstrated a good understanding of the legal issues with contracts as well as experience in developing Statements of Work. Has demonstrated advanced negotiation and presentation skills. Understands the organization, its aims and processes.

Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent plus 8-10 years relevant project management experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment. Advanced degree strongly preferred.

- In-depth knowledge of project management, resource scheduling and strong multi-tasking.
- 3+ yrs experience supporting large-scale enterprise customers is required.
- 3+ yrs external customer facing experience required.

Six Sigma and ITIL are strongly preferred.
