Duties & Responsibilities
Pre- and Post- award management of a diverse national and international research portfolio for the Department of Epidemiology. Provides financial leadership, strategic advice and counsel to the departmental leadership team. Performs routine financial planning, forecasting, reporting and tracking for faculty and leadership. Manages and trains financial staff of nine in a team environment, with high standards for excellent customer service. Responsible for developing and maintaining staff competencies and individual growth to enable them to provide comprehensive financial services and assure regulatory compliance. The pre- and post- award research administration (grants and contracts) comprises about 80% of the financial staff effort. Serves as the department representative to wide variety of internal and external partners on all fiscal matters. In close collaboration with Office of Financial Services, will develop and maintain department-wide financial controls to ensure compliance with sponsored regulations and all HSPH financial and business practice policy. Creates and prepares complex financial status reports and projections and performs related audit activities as necessary. Serves on variety of department and school-wide committees related to financial administration, change management and staff development.

Duties And Responsibilities
CBAR has over 120 statisticians, epidemiologists and research staff working in multi-center trials and related research in HIV and infectious diseases. We have an immediate opening for a candidate to become the statistical leader in viral and microbial genetics in our organization. The candidate will work with study teams from around the world on sequencing projects related to HIV and other viruses (e.g. HBV, HCV) and to other infectious organisms (e.g. mTB), and on HIV/infectious disease clinical trials. Genomics projects will involve issues such as drug resistance, viral and organism fitness, and data generated by next-generation high-throughput platforms. Candidate will also work independently in the design, conduct, monitoring and analysis of clinical trials and observational studies. Candidate will work directly with statistical and clinical investigators as a collaborator and resource; mentor and supervise CBAR staff; maintain personal knowledge on cutting-edge issues and develop educational modules; and be expected to have or establish an independent research agenda recognized in the field.
