Job Description: In this position, you will be responsible for working with the hardware architecture team to implement software for 'what if' analysis to help drive the future hardware architecture directions. The work consists of performance analysis, adding new feature/algorithms in the driver to validate/drive future hardware interfaces, deep diving into newer version of APIs such as OpenGL/ES, DirectX, or OpenVG to determine what can be done in software and what part of the API needs to be implemented in the hardware to maximize the performance or minimize the power requirements.

- Responsible for developing all aspects of graphics drivers to include: OpenGL*, DirectX*/Direct3D*, video/DXVA*, video codecs, content protection, image, and color processing, video BIOS, also to develop operating system support and simulation environment.

- Conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software

- Determines computer user needs advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems

- Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur

- Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment and formal software process


Minimum Qualifications:
Must have at least a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, with 6-9 years of experience in the following:
- Graphics architecture
- C/C++ programming background

Sort Manufacturing Technicians perform functions associated with all wafer production including operations, equipment, process and training. Collects and evaluates operating data to conduct on-line equipment adjustment and ensure process optimization. Responsible for running lots in a qualitative way. Also, responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, spares, and sustaining. In addition, the Sort Manufacturing Technician is responsible for improvement processes, troubleshooting nonstandard events in the production line, and reviewing technological health and stability.

The Manufacturing Technician may be responsible for the buddy, trainer, and certifier levels and is in charge of updating training manuals. May participate in safety forums and Emergency Response Team as required. Work is somewhat complex and is performed within the spectrum ranging from narrowly defined parameters and limited judgment up to highly complex and nonstandard assignments in nature and broadly defined parameters. High degree of judgment and initiative is required in resolving complex nonstandard problems and developing recommendations. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new work.


You must possess a relevant technical degree in a related discipline with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a diverse team environment. You must demonstrate excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail. Semiconductor process knowledge would be an added advantage.
Candidate must also be able to work in a clean room environment, wearing gowns, booties and safety glasses and gloves.
Preference will be given to candidates with Sort, Etest, or PCM experience.

You will be implementing features for the user-mode portion of the driver; enabling current/new Intel Graphics hardware is compliant with Windows Operating Systems and DirectX (D3D). This internship requires a mature and independent candidate capable of learning the necessary skills for testing and characterization of high speed photodetectors and photoreceivers. The position requires dependable data collection as well as regular presentations to the team.


The candidate must be a graduate student working on a PhD in an engineering or physics curriculum with both electrical and optical course work and lab experience.

Previous experimental experience with photo detector measurements is strongly recommended. The candidate must be proficient in testing and characterizing active optoelectronic devices. Candidates must have basic understanding of semiconductor device physics, specifically devices for photo detection. In addition, the candidate should also be comfortable with optical alignment and fiber coupling for both normal-incidence and waveguide devices. Experience with high speed (RF) characterization would also be a major plus.
